The Ducati Hypermotard is the flagship of the Italian brand for bad behavior, socially unacceptable antics and plain ol 'hooligans'. When it was introduced six years ago, he moved spazstic attention of those who are attracted by wheelies, smoking tires and pallets cut, but it was not really a motorcycle that wanted to live with every day. His flighty front-end that can cause intense ergonomics and limited range of the fuel, which was good, hyper. For The New 2013 Ducati Hypermotard was a dose of Ritalin to everyday life with ADHD make more bike a little more appealing to the masses in the line-up. But they prescribe the right dosage?

Ducati started with a clean slate for 2013, but made sure not the character that is the Hypermotard lose. On the air-cooled in two versions 796 and 1100 engines, a unique water-cooled 821cc Testastretta engine 11, which is shared between the Hypermotard and Hypermotard SP replaced. With a claimed 110 horsepower on tap, the new plant sets out 20 more ponies than the previous peak in 1100, but 10 less torque with 68.5 pounds-ft. In addition, the service interval is for this new engine Testatretta 18,500 miles - the longest to date Ducati.

An APTC wet clutch is a new addition to the final drive, in competition with a slipper function. The use of a self-servo mechanism to press the plates together to speed up the data transmission of light spring and deceleration servo release pressure for better control of the rear wheel to downshift. The clutch is actuated by the cable, but the voltage is small and smooth.

Forward thrust profile is measured by a fly-by-wire throttle body butterfly operation on single 52mm, which are controlled by an injection Magneti Marelli. The FI system features in a large tank of 4.2 liters of fuel, which is 0.9 gallons greater than the previous model. While the Testastretta 11 is a thirsty engine has now grown to an acceptable level fuel range. The Ducati Safety Pack is standard and includes three levels and eight levels ABS DTC (Ducati Traction Control).

Three driving modes are selectable, but differ between SP Hypermotard Hypermotoard. The standard model receives Modes Sport, Touring and Urban, with the first two levels of the pumps 110 hp. ABS and DTC settings are low in Sport, Touring while receiving treatment medium drive for electronic aids. Urban to the power of 75 hp and boosts the ABS and DTC. In the Race mode SP takes full power and allows the DTC to level 2 and disables ABS rear slides supermoto style. Sport reflects the setting of the standard model with the same name and brings moist ABS and DTC level 3 to level 7 and delivers 75 hp.

Wheelie control is determined by the ABS control. Level 1 allows for much 00:00 actions you want, Level 2 allows the wheel to come, but the elevator and Level 3 operates in front of the wheel planted.

The team responsible for the redesign of Hyper has been accused of not only a new engine, but also soften the hard edges handling slightly less hardcore appeal to drivers. It started with a new lattice steel frame and aluminum subframe halves. The screen has been increased to 25.5 degrees with 4.1 inch track. The wheelbase is now 1.6 inches to 59.2. All this is to increase the stability, while maintaining the characteristic Hypermotard agility.

The Hypermotard first generation had a very aggressive riding position, made more of a chore the walks. This new model is more relaxed and more comfortable ergonomics. The seat has more space to move backwards, while the footrests before releasing pressure on the infernal regions have been moved. A vertical bar is the feeling is improved again closer to the driver before set. Seat height is 34.2 inches tallish for standard and superior 35 inches for MS. Is a low seat option available, seems almost an inch of that height.
Ohlins Suspensions for 2013 Ducati Hypermotard
Suspension functions on the standard model is provided by a non-adjustable 43mm Kayaba fork with 6.7 inches of travel and adjustable Sachs shock preload and rebound that the rear by 5.9 inches. Most spec SP gets a lighter, fully adjustable 50mm Marzocchi forks with 7.3 inches of movement and a damper Ohins the 6.9 inches of travel, which also offers fully adjustable. With the suspension longest race comes more ground clearance of 8.3 inches by 7.5 inch base model clearance.

As expected Brembo brake handle function in both models. M4-32 cast iron calipers Monbloc crack front 320 mm discs. A double Brembo caliper piston is connected to a rotor of 245 mm to the rear wheel. The model is a SP Brembo radial master cylinder is greater than the axial component of the standard.

The basic model is to Pirelli Diablo Rosso II sits wrapped around cast aluminum wheels, 10-spoke wheels. On the brighter SP Marchesini wheels style fake Panigale the oh-so-sticky Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires get.

Finally, the SP gets the treatment for carbon fiber timing belt covers, front fender and fork guards with magnesium valve cover. A textured seat with horizontal seams increased grip and a special Ducati Corse paint complements the sleek look of the SP.

The morning of the race from the press, temperatures around Ronda, Spain fell to freezing. Not the best situation to shred roads and shady unknown hinterland, and we were instructed to keep the DTC and ABS all the way. I decided to try once the roads are slippery and cold urban areas. For this trip in the morning we climb the standard model, since the SP units expected track session in the afternoon.

Output power of the urban environment specifically less than inspiring, and soft, gentle. He was confident, however, when traction is far from optimal. The ABS is activated early and keep a little less experienced driver line if and when reducing a handful of caps and road collision. I quickly turned my attention to touring mode.

Touring is the power much more in line with the outer personality and extreme hyper. Throttle response is smooth and perfect feet. ABS is always present and spoke regularly during difficult for binder. Even with such cold conditions the DTC was not recognizable. Placement on the gas is difficult Rosso II rear wind, but it comes from or loses traction unexpectedly. Felt on the front, when the hot asphalt was vague, especially turn in. It's probably a combination of circumstances, the tires and the lack of speed was.

Finally, click on the sport for photos, the true character of the Hypermotard was obvious. Throttle response was swift and immediate. The front tire is past the floor with ease in the first and second gear and sometimes take off in third place with a rebound at the front end at the right time. ABS is less intrusive in this mode, but I would still go. Modes of urban transport and touring is no doubt have their place, but the sport mode that goes hyper.

It was difficult to determine all the actual impressions 2013 Ducati Hypermotard handling with the icy conditions. Then I turned to the comfort and everyday with the Hyper. While Ergos you hanging in the wind with wide bars and upright seats to leave, the Duke is surprisingly comfortable. If you have a dirt bike or bicycle adventure background, you will feel at home. I could ride this thing all day. The less hardened people, maybe ¾ of the day.

My only complaint would be the morning with pretty small mirrors, which were by the hand guards on Hyper floor to be replaced conventional rods. Whenever I met a difficult time or wheelied would hang the mirror and I have to re-adjust. No big deal, but it could be a daily nuisance to age rapidly.
