The riding of adventure means many things to many different drivers. For some, it is breath-taking 1000 miles in a day, for others it goes to new destinations, but for me it's not an adventure until the end of the road and the track is so difficult that you do not know if you bend to the next " or is on the side of the hill. Thats why I adventure series BMW GS models have always seen as the real deal. these models are the most hardcore versions is able wildly popular BMW GS motorcycles. MotoUSA BMW invited to Moab Utah recently try the last variant of the new BMW F800GS Adventure 2014.

The test loop would be about 80% quality off-road through the mountains, the border of Utah and Colorado. Quality dirt ranged from desert sand and silt downhill gravel and pretty much everything else. Some sections of land full of framed dirt bike. BMW decided to factory Continental TKC 80 tires Twinduro adjust off-road option to make our job a little easier.

Based on the standards of the F800GS adventure gets more than a dozen changes or additions, the joy of driving (see what I did there?) Create. First, there is nothing worse than the fuel during exploration, so that BMW with a large tank under the rear seat. The total capacity was increased to 6.3 gallons, you get more than 300 miles on a full tank. The windshield is larger for better protection against the wind, like the radiator grille. A two-tone seat provides more cushioning for long days on the track and the road, but it comes with a big price of a seat height of 35 cm. Motor bumper were bolted to the front and to the rear bumper with dual use / media pockets protect the large tank. Wide footrest, adjustable brake pedal and hand protectors of off-road ability of the adventure book. Finally a luggage rack and fender robust transformation of the new F800GS Adventure 2014.

Our test units spec "Fully Loaded" which adds three packs of devices called Enduro, comfort and active. The Enduro adds traction control (ASC) and a method for the off-road ABS system. Comfort team heated grips, an onboard computer and a convenient center stand. Finally, are active adventure fog lights and LED electronic suspension tuning BMW (ESA).

What has not changed is the 798cc parallel twin engine, which has been testing well and proven in the F800GS basis. BMW claims 85 hp and 61 Nm of torque from the same factory. The twist of the gas rewards F800GS rider with a nice growl on the bottom right, goes regularly to a soft tip. However, say the top end is not strong does not explain the whole story. The upper end frame set allows less punchy when driving at high speed under perfect surfaces. I found myself flirting with the redline more time because it kept the torquey nature of the bottom and middle of the Beemer in check. But if you have to get a view of the hills or bounce through a technical rock garden, the couple was there to guide you through with ease. The engine of the 800 is easily one of the best in the world, or your local desert to explore.

Off-road, I've always been an opponent of the electronic nannies, but I must say that the BMW traction control (ASC) provides excellent results. Press the Mode button on the right to select the mode and enduro CSA is designed for service in the dirt. If the power supply is not sharp, and you can even nice predictable slides on power. The only real drawback is that you can not shake quickly back to one corner. Be disabled for CSA, which is easy, because the touch of a button as well. Overall this is a well-calibrated system.

BMW has also decided that the suspension is no need to change for the adventure, running the same fork and shock with 9.1 inches of travel and 8.5, respectively. ESA Adventure BMW F800GS with standard comfort, normal sports fashion. Comfort is useful for pounding the pavement for a long time, but it is too soft to hit the desert. Sports companies, things are good for bits curves in the road, but on the ground you lose some feeling in chop and washboard. Normal mode is that if you want to turn the screws on the road and need. Back to the front and rear is excellent, and it is consistent in little bumps. But I think BMW had grown again and again lock coupling adventure as the extra £ 33 spent on the largest tank and all-terrain vehicles to an even softer already soft suspension. Easy to place edge bumps and G-out shots from the back through the race. If you are a heavy rider, you should be your first order heavy springs.

As with CSA, BMW has almost perfectly calibrated ABS on and off road. In the street, Brembo front binders have a strong initial bite and adventure wear on the speed with power. The input of the ABS takes a finger on the very heavy trigger. On the back, the ABS system kicks a little harder than the feeling of not quite the same as before. In the lane closure is truly amazing. I'm not a big fan of ABS in general, but when each system was as good as BMW, I would change my songs. The rear slide it a little before the electronics take over, so that the brake a dirt road very natural feel. Front, the ABS also holds to the limit, and even if he does not turn the bike not as a limitation of the braking force. I turned on the ABS for a quick test and more convenient to leave it. This is so good.

The driver's compartment is comfortable and spacious with wide bars give a lot of input on the front end. A large windscreen holds the wind pressure and the chest of the driver's helmet and tremor nonexistent. Large footrest are comfortable and offer standing room to move around during the session. In 35-inch two-tone seat is great and just the right amount of cushion for a day in the saddle. It is a low seat accessories available, but I would take the extra padding of the largest square.

After an eventful day in the dirt with BMW's latest adventure, I was impressed, and I dare say that this is my favorite BMW now available. The New 2014 BMW F800GS Adventure fulfill his nickname, and would be my first choice if you are. Serious adventure in land!
