2014 New Yamaha FZ-09, Super Street Bike with 3 CilynderDodge over the edge of the cable car , I pull in the clutch and Yamaha FZ -09 starts tiptoeing down Lombard Street. Tourists line the artery famous amazed now that our 10 -rider squad loud on the curviest street in San Francisco. Lombard makes a memorable journey , but for the rest of the way SF . Clogged intersections chaotic motorway junctions , the imposing outline of the topography of hills , potholes and assorted chuck holes , ski sled fluted ... Title slide !

Yamaha bills his new car as a sporty brand urban and pitch certainly does not shy away from leaving us a taste of how the FZ in the concrete jungle . 1 Day of the introduction of freedom of the press was restricted to just explore the city itself - an education in municipal sports riding to be sure.

Wheelies were fired . Stoppies arrested. Bicycles started off hills . And channels were divided ... Oh , Lord, how they were divided . Things got rowdy there . And it speaks volumes about the FZ -09 we returned glued to what was actually a four-hour drive with a smile on our faces .

The FZ -09 , replacing the Yamaha FZ8 in sports , is a completely new model . The technical presentation before handing over the keys , described the new Yamaha FZ emotional power that comes through his surprising inline triple, while $ 7.990 MSRP " naked sports , performance and emotional character of the fundamentals in mind. " $ - $ 900 less than the bike replaced - manages the portion of the value . These two aspects are the -09 FZ one of the most fascinating models debuting this year.

Yamaha teased his three -cylinder engine during Intermot show last year, dubbing it a concept cross. The crankshaft 120 degrees triple and even 240 -degree firing order in a cross design course - with Yamaha making a big noise when he cross the crank moves the M1 MotoGP R1 Superbike . Lost in the order / crank degree plan / shooting ? Do not worry about what is important , as the inline Triple gives a distinctive sound and character of the engine . This is old hat to those that are defined with the sport range of Triumph , by his signature engine. The latest generation of three-cylinder MV Agusta developed with Yamaha and suit.

The trains New Yamaha FZ-09 2014 Triple 847cc over 78mm bore and 59.1mm stroke . The piston made of forged aluminum thrums below an offset cylinder is moved rearward of 5 mm from the crank axle to reduce the friction - in the first cylinder with a plurality of production Yamaha pattern offset (also the source of M1 and YZ450F MotoGP) . The four- valve integrated 31mm intake and 25mm exhaust valves. Denso injectors are mounted in holes 12 in the inlet , wherein the transmission of air through the inlet funnel offset ( 102.8mm cylinder block , 122.8mm 82.8mm in length ) . New 41mm Mikuni throttle are controlled by the familiar Yamaha Chip Controlled Power ( YCC -T). The ride- by-wire system also provides three selectable drive modes : Standard, with a more aggressive mode, and less assertive in B mode .

Start to take the 09 sounds and intoxicating triple. One slip and 3 - in-1 integrated resonator air choir sing FZ added . MotoUSA has always praised the character and intrinsic performance characteristics of three-cylinder mills, and this new Yamaha complements our praise. The approval howl howl of a screaming four is very good, even for a crabby heavy twin torque - but the triple-hybrid ... This is presented -09 a real gem in the FZ .

Yamaha claims 115 hp and 64.5 lb-ft torque at the crankshaft. And it does not take long to discover muscles triple as hard drive up and down with its powerband rich couple . Also wheelie timid rider like me at the end tracing efforts of the front wheel with a simple roll-ons . And playfully prods FZ racing to hoist natural. The FZ -09 engine is a riot , and no matter provides a more engaging than the four-cylinder powered replaced FZ8 carries .

The engine is not perfect, but by sudden supply . Riders take a herky jerky on -off feeling, especially at low speeds . Ride in the B- mode silently relieved that complaint , a little , which is exaggerated in standard mode and engine mapping. But it is easy to forgive the tense accelerators, such as the engine itself runs amazingly smooth. A balancer shaft to escape the mood after the engine is suppressed revved up to 11,250 rpm redline .

A guy stacked six-speed transmission with compact engine package ( FZ -09 Triple shed 22 pounds of FZ8 -line four ) . Engineers have two clutch disks , recorded to handle the additional torque of 09 . The reputation of great gear not just because I found little need to move up from third gear over the entire stroke of the press, on Day 2 included a lively ride on winding roads to the north over the Golden Gate . For urban use , were the first and the second more than adequate, and the FZ is happy crawling at low speeds without complaining . On the highway fall into overdrive sixth gear was a super smooth 70mph was right around 4000 rpm.

image of New Yamaha FZ-09 2014
The new aluminum frame and arm pressure source vibration motor as a carrier. Yamaha Press acknowledges the support of external swingarm, so that a thin frame. The narrow sense is immediately apparent , astride the FZ -09 . At 6'1 " I found the way down from the seat height of 32.1 inches intimidating, but the narrow profile should make things manageable for small jigs and .

Ergonomic changes compared to the FZ8 footrests are 26mm with 53mm lower and 40mm higher handlebars placed closer . It transforms the driving position to an upright position , one that I prefer hyper- aggressive forward lean on most Supersports Act standards and some colleagues. However, the rate of seat less than stellar , as it tends to make me run into the tank from the tester. I also find long-term comfort perch want - not terrible, but not particularly inviting for high mileage race. A final ergonomic complaint is the case of motors, the press legs slightly .

Kayaba suspension graces the new bracket , with both the 41mm inverted fork and shock mounted horizontally adjustable preload and rebound damping . The devices are on the soft side , which proved optimal for our adventure cityscape suck myriad driving conditions confidently placed . Day 1 parameters were so elastic that when I got up and quickly , my 205- pound frame FZ bounced like a trampoline .

Yamaha technicians maxed preload and rebound for Day 2 sports field. Aggressive pace on winding country roads demanded the suspension of the FZ - even with adjustments. Based on uneven surfaces seen in a bad mood , indulging some occasional . In a particularly bumpy track, Crested I ran up and down in a depression at high speeds , and fell from the saddle suspension began typing . The sudden power hampers cornering stability , as the bike can get angry fumigation at the exit .

On the pristine roads , but the FZ has proven his skills. It provides fast changes of direction with ease. I immediately found my records and perform, providing plenty of leverage by placing in the top bar . The bike feels like a light weight and a curb weight 414 pounds , he's 53 pounds lighter than the FZ8 . The rolling chassis includes new alloy wheels 10 beams and Yamaha claims a reduction of unsprung masses by the smaller rotors and brakes - 298mm compared to the 310mm discs on the FZ8 .

Speaking of brakes, the New 2014 Yamaha FZ-09 package is a set of technical specifications . In four - pot radial mount caliper ADVICS are coupled to a master cylinder Brembo front, wherein the clamping of the rear caliper Nissin 245mm (also a diameter of less than 267 mm on the back of FZ8 ) . Compared to the plateau (ie expensive) brakes , white FZ -09 caps not super strong first bite, but I thought better road riding . I also tried the lever feel and modulation very encouraging.

Returning from a walk on the second day , our test team again . Below the Golden Gate Bridge and through the city in another ecstatic swirl of the way Split Slowdown in the sports side road I took more attention to instrumentation FZ . The device features compact economy key steps, such as the consolidation of the starter and ignition in one. Riders can also happen to be closed by the maps on the fly , but the gas and the mode button is difficult to achieve the right equipment. The controls felt a pleasing little hair on my side, but on the whole .

I also enjoyed the console incisive edge of the FZ with its easy to read digital speedometer . The digital speedometer is not so important, but to be honest , wide power range of the triple does not have me for all the sweet spots in the towers. Also thumbs up for the gear indicator , a personal favorite in a dashboard and discreetly located in the lower left corner of the LCD display . The display has a fuel gauge and measure the 3.7 -gallon tank is a little small . Yamaha claims 44 mpg, if our reading of the average mileage for Day 2 registered 37 mpg. Not the impressive range - but easy to forgive , considering the pleasure associated with each mile .

Ready it for a new model to -2014 . Yamaha made sure to note this bike is not a part of the special cell , virtually all of the components are developed exclusively for the new FZ -09 . Also Yamaha parts could skimp on quality have a high sense - including aluminum handlebar and feet , or LED tail lights.

Any criticism of -09 FZ must that it is a puzzle $ 7,990 MSRP sports are made of the fact . The application form is the amazing technology and potential knockout blow to his rivals . Consider the Street Triple 675 is $ 9399 ( add another $ 600 for the top spec version R ) and FC -09 is a good deal - not the most expensive BMW F800R ( $ 10.600 ) and Ducati Monster 796 mention ( $ 10.495 ) . Yamaha dealers have certainly learned on application to an increase in production and the addition of Blazing Orange to join the Red liquid graphite and faster models in the United States.

The -09 FZ offers a ride. The hard and soft suspension feeding is not ideal for aggressive drivers , but they are easy to forget with impressive performance and the character of the triple . Perhaps the most important is that jaw-dropping RRP so crucial model for Yamaha FZ -09 in 2014 and beyond. This is 2014 New Yamaha FZ-09, Super Street Bike with 3 Cilynder.

The New 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABSDo you like the speed and look of a sports car , but are set with the possibilities of tourism fed and started all limited? Kawasaki may be the answer with its 2014 Ninja 1000 ABS ( $ 11,999 ) . Designed with a long Castingsport on a shot from the tour, the sport is sport -tourer earn miles easier and more comfortable than ever before. In '14 the bike gets some improvements powertrain and traction control and easy to use removable suitcases are all in the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS First Look section defines 2014.

Looks - as the Ninja is more or less the same except for a few things. The aesthetically biggest change is the move to a quiet brushed stainless steel gives the Ninja has covered more than premium. There are also new handrails passenger who work in unison with the ultra - smooth removable option Kawasaki ( $ 1,269.75 ) hard case. Cases with a simple and effective mechanism lock, so that they are carried out on the bike when you arrive at your destination. They are also lockable and coded ignition key . Other features include the reversal of the windscreen adjustable three channels ( without tools). We decided on the highest setting, but it is still too short for him to push the turbulent water and the driver. For some , the absence will deter a center stand , but we appreciate the extra ground clearance when the road starts , Zack .
Image of New Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS 2014
Image of New Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS 2014
A new device screen was also installed. Furthermore, a large analog tachometer style of a next smallest rectangular liquid crystal display device , the bar type measuring tank , tachometer , various warning lights and an indicator of the received includes traction control mode and power . It also shows current and average mpg and distance to empty odometer. Another highlight is the ECO light when the engine is in the vicinity of the light reaching the maximum fuel economy. During our drive we reached 500 miles an average of 38.5 mpg on the highway with moderate to fast pace. This rule is an approximate range of 192 miles on the basis of the ability of the steel, the fuel cell 5 gallon container compliant bag .

Oddly missing a gear indicator . A temperature gauge was also a welcome addition . While we appreciate some of the additional features of the LCD screen is too small and narrow, with so much information makes it difficult to read while driving.

Engineers have spent time tweaking the 1043cc inline four- cylinder engine for a smoother and more torque spread and succeeded . This ninja can the widest range of power every four-cylinder bike that we recently installed . This helps to give the driver a lot of acceleration during its six-speed rolling almost any speed. In fact, the engine instantly turn power wheel so that you can literally leave in sixth gear as you accelerate away from a stop rolling, with just a quick slip of the clutch . Performance flattens up to 11,000 revolutions per minute to redline it as biased because of its melody motor road awaits .

If you ( the platform is based the Ninja 1000) no time spent at the top of the Z1000 or read our 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 First round you will , is connected without a doubt exciting induction roar of the engine , but the 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS is significantly silent. Engineers tried to insert some intake noise into the equation the last iteration for sports, but it's still too quiet. Unlike the bike is well balanced and silky smooth and vibration free , except in the upper third of the tachometer , but it's not annoying.

The rest of the drive train , including cable actuated clutch and transmission , good results. The clutch lever has a familiar and well weighted and experienced driver when the air is drawn , and its effect is perfectly progressive. It is complemented by a high quality transfer between your teeth meshing precision. Lever is also spot-on with the great sixth gear power around 4300 rpm at 60 mph . The only thing missing is a genuine racing style slipper clutch , but 99.9 % of the runners never miss if they are deliberately trying to pull the rear end of the bike during the delay with the ABS manual ( below) disables .
Brake the New 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS with ABS
Brake the New 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS with ABS
The new Ninja 1000 similar sources is a version of traction control that is used on Kawasaki ZX -14R . Three modes are available , and it can also be disabled if desired. Level 1 and 2 maximize acceleration allows a degree of rotation of the wheel , while Level 3 has been designed to mitigate any spin say when driving on wet roads or loose gravel . A button on the switchgear on the left , the driver modes during the ride, but it can not be turned on at the bus stop . All three methods worked well, but it was hard to find a good book on one level , it is necessary that the pace is a little too wild to get on the road. For the most part , we felt comfortable with 2, because it seemed to prevail in accelerating force for those who have a heavy hand throttle on unfamiliar roads .

In addition to CT, the Ninja's engine has two power modes . When did the default to full power , but also provides a low-power mode. After selecting the lower setting reduces the power output at high engine speeds roomates help less experienced driver control . It also tarnishes the throttle slightly . In the application of lower configuration not feel very different than the full performance when you apply full throttle in the upper echelons of the speedometer . Overall this is a great feature , and make the ninja already invites easy ride for a wide range of drivers and road conditions .

Apart from the beautiful new shaped rocker , designed to accommodate a new optional hard disk luggage, the chassis is almost unchanged. He continues to use a reverse fork with 4.7 inches of travel . The front suspension also allows independent spring preload and rebound damping . Compression adjustment can also be attached to the bottom of the right fork leg . Kawasaki is horizontally mounted shock there , but roommate with a new controller style Ohlins makes adjusting the preload spring. It also offers rebound damping . The shock offers 5.4 inches of movement up and down .

In shares this Ninja has a slightly unbalanced feel . It is not only made it run slow is a tendency to wander has the easy road . By calling the preload on the rear as well as the slowdown in the fork and shock absorber settings makes a big difference in allowing the bike to turn better with less confidence. Delivered to the Ninja highway ride quality goods on the whole , however, on uneven surfaces, the suspension is not as much of a filter on the devastating consequences that we remember with Z1000 work. Although loaded with bags and a passenger , the Ninja may be under sprung for two spirited riding.

Chassis Perhaps the biggest change is the installation of a one-piece style in a piece of Tokico front calipers . You do not have to pinch a pair of petal brake discs 300mm diameter perforated style. The set-up is powered by hydraulic lines and a new rubber improving the ABS pump , the better monitors the fluid pressure for intervention more accurately anti-lock braking on slippery road with electricity. We are big fans of the network braking performance and appreciate the greater accuracy and greater transparency modulation of the ABS system . Although it is not designed to be turned off, a short rapid depletion is everything you need to turn off the system if desired. But do not worry , you get online is as simple as the cycle the ignition key.

After a two-day trip 500 - mile , the Ninja 1000 proved to be touring and easy to install to a very sporty . He has a lot of appointments in any diet up-and -go, help more electronics make it as sweet as wild desires of the rider. It also offers the same decent fuel economy while walking fast and has a very comfortable riding position and seat. Although he did not impress us with its handling, it will be difficult to pass if this Ninja looking for a competent and do- it-all sports tourer. This is The New 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS.

Yamaha unveiled the all-new 2014 Yamaha YZ250F this afternoon in his dealer meeting in Las Vegas. The long-awaited model for replacement carburetor, which saw a period of four years now shares the same engine as the draft back YZ450F. While the engine change is good news, the whole bike for supremacy in the category 4-stroke 250cc has been redesigned.
Image of New 2014 Yamaha YZ250F
Image of New 2014 Yamaha YZ250F
The motion for a presentation of Yamaha tilted back motor should not really be surprising since the configuration YZ450F led since 2010. Frankly, we're surprised it took so long for the company to change the pitch. The bore and stroke are identical to the 2013 model year, but Yamaha claims that this new iteration more power in the range of medium to high towers.

Most of the increase in power, updated thanks to electronic fuel injection. A 12-hole injector is fed to a throttle body 44 mm, with the entire system monitored position, intake pressure, intake air temperature, in revolutions per minute of the crankshaft and reduce the coolant temperature, the synchronization parameters and to correct the fuel. Yamaha says the EFI system will increase peak HP and gives it a coherent response to the accelerator pedal. For you and me, that means no more bog carb on G-outs and hard landings. In addition, GYTR Power Tuner Yamaha genuine accessories is compatible with the ECU YZ for custom mapping.

Like the 450, the new 2014 Yamaha YZ250F is now a port down draft intake with airbox and is located where the fuel tank would normally be located filter. Air capacity airbox has a shot almost directly into the double overhead camshaft head. Airbox access is quick and easy removal of three screws 8mm.

Of spent exhaust gases leave the rear part of the head in the new exhaust system, which does not surround the motor coil behind it. This allows the noise to 190mm (7.2 inches) can be positioned before the front and helps centralize the weight of the motorcycle for better handling.

Reported seen a new gearbox and revised gear shift mechanisms have been revised to reduce the loss of the driving force with a smoother operation. The clutch has also modifies activation and better controllability.

With the airbox and the creeping advance of the exhaust into the engine instead of behind the fuel tank needs a new home, it was moved under the seat for a more centralized mass. The cap is now in a section of the front seat easily removable so that YZ a completely smooth transition from pole rider at the front of the bike. Surprisingly, the fuel tank was increased 1.6-2 gallons.

The development objective of the new Yamaha YZ250F chassis was instinctive for the handling and class leading performance suspension. To achieve this goal, the YZ250F gets a new chassis. The dimensions are very similar to the 2013 model year, but the thickness of the longitudinal beams were modified rigidity balance. The mounting surface of the swing arm is revised and the position and the shape of the longitudinal spar of the medium was changed. Supports the top of the engine are now made of steel, and the lower retainers are made of aluminum.

In the suspension department, Yamaha has not jumped on the moving train and air fork keeps KYB speed sensitive system, but with modifications. The stiffness of the outer tube and the inner tube has been changed is given a new surface coating. On the back was the shock reservoir on the left side of the bike to move space for the fuel tank and the provision of more compact silencer make. Of course the rate valve and spring for the new chassis have also been optimized.

2014 New Yamaha YZ250F in Yamaha blue or a combination of white and red team. Both models now have "graphics in the form" for better durability and less scratches on the radiator shroud. 'S White / red model also has black wheels and the availability of professional gold chain. Was planned for October, and the MSRP is now $ 200 more at $ 7.490.

There is no indication when 2014 New Kawasaki KX250F that nothing except new graphics and a rear fender changed white. On closer inspection shows a new button on the left side of the handlebar indicating Kawasaki Launch Control Mode, the same that was installed at the rear of the KX450F in 2012. The clever red button in case of transmission error in neutral, the first or the second delay for the ignition timing for traction on slippery concrete or updates are enabled. Once the wheel is moved on the third time back to normal. Using the system is simple and straightforward, and it works only when the handle is not optimal. However, you do not want every time you use the line at the door. If traction is good, your acceleration will actually be impeded.

"I think the launch control is a great tool for starting concrete or hard ground where you do not want the rear tires" again says our professional test rider Chris See. "For these situations, it works really well, and it's a really cool feature to add to Kawasaki."

image of New 2014 Kawasaki KX250F
On the chassis, the engine mounting plates before are now 29% thinner for a better feel for the front wheel and traction. While our Pro riders test lake not noticed a difference from the 2013 model year (it has), I felt the feeling of front-end has been improved. This is not a big difference for me, the front tire had slightly better communication, especially in the corners flat-bumpy. As for traction, the KX always like to push a little when it no berm or rut.

Front and rear suspension settings have been revised to congratulate the new engine mounts, but both see and I felt the fork is too soft. The sweetness has The New 2014 Kawasaki KX250F to settle in the area, but on the brakes often bumps and shocks floor. We increased preload of five clicks before a little higher, and that seemed to help get. But for heavier riders (170 lbs or more) a change in the spring would be fine. The shock was much better behaved and kept the rear wheel hooked and in almost all conditions that we encountered. In contrast to the fork, it was not too soft, and we actually had a quarter turn compression damping at high speed a little softer on some quick chuck holes. See also slowed the rebound two clicks to control a slight hop in the back-end braking bumps.

The KX250F has always been one of the best engines in its class group, and we like the performance at low and medium revs extremely healthy. Coming out of corners, pulling the face jumps, the KX motor is phenomenal. On the high end, but the power starts to flatten out and he signs it sooner than we want. Throttle response is crisp and catchy as highlighting 250F really grunt on tap. A change in the ignition coupler card provides more torque or more rounds, but we preferred the standard card for mixer Comp field.

"I was too thin to try a little more on the upscale KX," said Lake. "He made the sharper bike, but it did not really rev so much. I think the stock market works best here."

Kawasaki has revised the transmission change by adding another dog gears and shift drum for smoother changes. Green Team claims that gives a more direct feel during gear changes. Although I have no problems with the gearbox, what-so-ever had and say that the transmission is solid, has some problems do you see the KX movement under hard acceleration at the top had the entire speed range. A bite of the clutch fixed the problem, but I would prefer just to cut a little gas. I am a first offender coupling class and my fingers are stuck with the left lever so that changes for me were solid and accurate at all times.

The first thing I ever changed on a KX fought that induce blisters due to their construction. 2014 Kawasaki finally uses a softer compound, and it is greatly appreciated. Although not as cush as a series of pro-Renthal grips apps or the new units are a nice mix of comfort and durability.

Sometimes, if you're using something that does not, you end up with a broken end result that is worse mess. Not so on the new 2014 Kawasaki KX250F, he moves to improve from year to year, even if the profits are down. At the end of the day, both to see and I agreed that the 2014 KX250F can be changed for the better, but it's not as dramatic as we expected. Kawasaki has managed to find the KX250F without screwing it, and that's the key. There are a few trophies for the current iteration of this rip-250 class left.
